INTERACT Association General Assembly at Abisko Scientific Research Station

We are at Abisko Scientific Research Station for the INTERACT Association General Assembly 2025!

Abisko is a special place for INTERACT: it hosted our first meeting back in 2011. The station was previously managed by Terry Callaghan and is now led by Margareta Johansson, both key figures in founding the network over a decade ago. Huge thanks to the station staff for a fantastic tour and for sharing the incredible work being done here!

INTERACT now connects 99 research stations, with 38 full members of the Association.

At this year’s assembly, we’re reviewing achievements from the past year and shaping initiatives for the next year.

We kicked off with an ArcticPASSION workshop on “Implementing, Maintaining New Instrumentation and Making Data Accessible,” contributing to the roadmap for a long-term Arctic observing system.

Today, following presentations from our Action Groups, which are the internal groups to coordinate work in different areas, we’re now holding the Station Manager Forum, a vital platform for strengthening collaboration and sharing knowledge.

Research Infrastructures are key to achieve the goals of the Arctic research community and coordinating their activities is essential to boost their impact.
