INTERACT welcomes Tsambagarav Research Station to the network

We are pleased to welcome Tsambagarav Research Station in Mongolia as our newest member station.

Located in the Tsambagarav mountain range at an altitude of 2,300 metres, the station is owned and operated by the Khovd Branch School of the National University of Mongolia. It provides a base for glaciological research and studies of alpine ecosystems, supporting long-term observations of glaciers, climate and mountain environments.

Tsambagarav Research Station broadens INTERACT's network into the high mountains of Central Asia, adding valuable expertise in cryosphere and alpine research. The station's work contributes to a better understanding of how mountain environments are responding to climate change and complements research taking place across INTERACT's Arctic, boreal and alpine stations.

As a member of INTERACT, the station becomes part of a collaborative network of research stations working together to share knowledge, strengthen research infrastructure and support environmental science across northern and mountain regions. Membership also provides opportunities to contribute to international projects, exchange experience with other stations and help shape the future of the network.

As highlighted in INPA's recent call for new members, expanding the network strengthens collaboration, increases the diversity of research environments represented, and creates new opportunities for scientific cooperation across regions.

We are delighted to welcome Tsambagarav Research Station to INTERACT and look forward to working together to advance research and international collaboration.
