INTERACT President Invites Manuscript Submissions to Special Issue in the Journal Water

As a Guest Editor of the MDPI journal Water, our INTERACT Honorary President, Prof. Dr. Dr. (multiple) Terry V. Callaghan CMG, invites researchers to submit manuscripts to the Special Issue: Climate Change Impacts on Water Resources and Ecosystem Dynamics in Mountainous and Cold-Region Ecosystems.

This Special Issue welcomes contributions on the impacts of climate change on ecosystems and species in cold regions, including (but not limited to):

• Changing seasonal patterns of liquid water, snow and ice

• Long-term implications of glacier and permafrost change for current ecosystems and species preserved in ancient permafrost and beneath glaciers

• Direct and indirect ecosystem effects, including plant productivity changes and disturbance processes such as fire

• Plant physiological responses, including water-use efficiency under higher atmospheric CO₂ levels

• Downstream impacts of changing atmospheric circulation patterns and streamflow

• Effects on inhabitants of cold regions, including drinking water, food preservation in permafrost storage, transport, irrigation and hydropower

• Human interventions and adaptation strategies to ameliorate changes in water, snow and ice conditions
