INTERACT featured in German media coverage

We’re pleased to share that INTERACT was highlighted in recent German media coverage on science in Greenland published by Deutsche Welle. The authors interviewed INTERACT’s Board Director Margareta Johansson.

The article discusses current challenges facing Arctic research - from rapidly melting ice and the scientific importance of Greenland, to how global geopolitics are affecting decades of international scientific cooperation. INTERACT is specifically mentioned as an Arctic‑wide research consortium that enabled scientists from all eight Arctic nations to share research and access field stations across the region. This collaboration was a powerful example of science diplomacy and transnational cooperation.

Despite geopolitical disruptions that have restricted access to some stations and data flows, the article underscores the vital role of cooperative scientific programs like INTERACT in maintaining continuity in Arctic research and understanding the rapid environmental changes underway.
